The opening ceremony of the King Sejong Institute in Katowice will take place on 8 October 2024 at 11.00 a.m. at spinPLACE (ul. 5 Bankowa, Katowice).
The King Sejong Institute is a foundation established by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and has institutes in 88 countries worldwide. The aim of the King Sejong Institute in Katowice, which will be run by the University of Silesia and Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, is to promote the Korean language and to familiarise Poles with the specificity of Korean culture. It will be also a base for strengthening cultural and socio-economic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Korea.

- recitation of poetry in Korean,
- flavours of Korean cuisine,
- 2.00-3.00 p.m. – open Korean alphabet workshops,
- 3.00-4.00 p.m. – mini-lecture and film presentation on Korean opera,
- 4.00-5.00 p.m. – open Korean alphabet workshops.
