On 16 June 2021 at 7 p.m., Fiona Earley will deliver a lecture “Creating an Autism Friendly University” under the “Aware University of Silesia. Accessibility” campaign. Fiona Earley is a coordinator of the Dublin City University, which has become an autism-friendly university. An autism researcher, particularly in terms of the educational path of people with a diagnosis of the spectrum.
The event will be broadcast via the University of Silesia’s Facebook and the University’s YouTube Channel. The webinar will be translated into Polish and Polish sign language.
During the webinar, the following issues will be raised:
- What is autism?
- What are the difficulties for people with autism spectrum a university can face?
- What are the solutions for people with the autism spectrum a university offers?
- What makes a university a friendly place for people with the autism spectrum?
The “Aware University of Silesia. Accessibility” campaign is realised under the project DUO project – University of Silesia – available, universal and open, co-funded under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development 2014 – 2020, Measure 3.5 Comprehensive programmes of higher education institutions.
