The 28th Academic Concert on the occasion of the University Of Silesian anniversary and the 55th anniversary of the Student Song and Dance Ensemble “Katowice”
On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Silesia, Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Rector of the University, invites you to an academic concert connected with the 55th anniversary of the Student Song and Dance Ensemble “Katowice”, which will take place on Friday, 24 May 2024 at 6.00 p.m. on the Main Stage of the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theatre in Katowice. The concert will be a journey through dances and songs of various regions of Poland, and the performers will be members of the Student Song and Dance Ensemble “Katowice” of the University of Silesia. During the concert, a new suite of Silesian dances prepared on the occasion of the Ensemble’s 55th anniversary will have its premiere.
The concert programme includes:
- Pro Scientia et Arte award ceremony,
- awarding the title of distinguished professor of the University of Silesia,
- lecture by Prof. Wojciech Popiołek from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia,
- dances and songs from various regions of Poland.
The concert will be hosted by students of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia: Lidia Le Thanh and Maciej Idczak.

- Band of the Student Song and Dance Ensemble “Katowice” composed of: Krzysztof Barczewski, Paweł Cieplak, Piotr Górka, Marek Kowalski, Aleksandra Marchewka, Emilia Pływacz, Michał Sznajder (band manager), Szymon Wieczorkowski, Marta Wysogląd and Magdalena Zubel
- Artistic concept – Aleksandra Kwiatkowska, Katarzyna Łukaszczyk, Emilia Głombica, Daniel Dziurka, Michał Sznajder
- Graphic designer – Natalia Łukomska
