“My Country, So Beautiful” – a film directed by Grzegorz Paprzycki and produced by Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice, has won the International Documentary Film Festival E Tudo Verdadew São Paolo in Brasil in the short documentary film category, which has qualified it to run for the award of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The film “My Country, So Beautiful”, winner of several awards on festivals in Poland and around the world, portrays Poland as a country where two forces representing totally different beliefs clash: the left-wing vision of the country, and the homogeneous image of Poland build by the extreme right. Among these ideologies there are people fighting for their own values and principles, who are share one controversial issue – nationalism.
The next year’s Academy Award nominations will be published on 15 March. The winners will be announced on 25 April 2021.
