Rev. Andrzej Pastwa, PhD, Faculty of Theology, was awarded the honorary doctorate degree at Universitatea Ovidius din Constanța. During the ceremony of awarding the degree, taking place on 12 April 2024 in Romania, he delivered the lecture Canon Law in the Service of Ecumenism.
Rev. Andrzej Pastwa, PhD is a priest of the Archdiocese of Katowice, a lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, University of Silesia in Katowice, and the Head of the Postgraduate Studies in Pastoral Theology. Lecturer at the Higher Silesian Seminary between 1999–2001. In 2008, he received the title of Doctor of Science in law in canon law – marriage law. A notary since 1992, and a judge at the Katowice Metropolitan Court since 2004. A member of Consociatio Internationalis Studio Iuris Canonici Promovendo, the Association of Polish Canonists and the Commission for Polish-Czech and Polish-Slovak Relations of the Polish Academy of Sciences Author of over 100 scientific papers.
