The 6th edition of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE took place on 3-5 December 2022. It was inaugurated in Planetarium – The Silesian Science Park. One of the events at the opening gala was a discussion about how space research can contribute to the improvement of living conditions on Earth. On Sunday and Monday (4–5 December), participants could visit the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The Festival space was divided into six zones dedicated to natural sciences, technology, humanities and social sciences, exact sciences, medicine and health as well as the arts; additionally, we have also had special zones. One of them was the Coal Zone dedicated to the raw material that was the foundation of the might of Upper Silesia in the past; however, finding coal’s place in our future is a significant challenge.
This year’s edition of the ŚFN KATOWICE attracted as many as 48,000 visitors who took part in shows, lectures, workshops, and meetings with special guests of the Festival.
