Kato Science Corner is a place to promote the ideas of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 and GZM Metrolab. It serves as an information point and a place for meetings, events, research, and other activities implemented as part of ECSK 2024. The object, located at the crossing of ul. Młyńska and ul. Pocztowa, was officially opened on 14 September 2024. This attractive and functional space is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project involves the preparation of a calendar of meetings, lectures, workshops, and presentations introducing the subject of the City of Science, also based on the programme assumptions of ECSK 2024 and the GZM Metrolab.  The detailed programme is available at www.katowice.eu/kato-science-corner. All universities associated with the Academic Consortium Katowice City of Science are taking part in the initiative. The University of Economics in Katowice is responsible for the coordination of activities.

Gosia Kulik — a well-known graphic designer and painter, author of various illustrations, visual stories, comic books, and posters, and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice. Inside the Kato Science Corner, you can also find, among others, mini-bookcases. In addition, there is also a green wall, full of plants.

The project is co-financed by the City of Katowice and Metropolis GZM.
