On 4 October 2024, first-year students of first-, second- and long-cycle studies could participate in a meeting with Szymon Hołownia, Marshal of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland. The meeting took place at spinPLACE in Katowice. The conversation with the Marshal regarding the Silesian language and identity took place with the participation of: Małgorzata Myśliwiec, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. – Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia, Prof. Jolanta Tambor – Director of the School of Polish Language and Culture of the University of Silesia and Grzegorz Kulik – Chair of the Silesian Language Council.
