Graduation ceremony at the Faculty of Social Sciences UŚ

On friday, 22 July 2022 at the Faculty of Social Sciences the first graduation ceremony at the University of Silesia was held. 

The participants of the ceremony could listen to speeches delivered by Katarzyna Trynda, PhD, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Education and Students; Prof. Zenon Gajdzica, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia; Małgorzata Tyrybon, PhD, Deputy Dean for Education and Students; Agata Bizon, the Chair of the Student Government; and Sandra Skalmiewska, representative of the gratuates. The university authorities congratulated the graduates on their achievements and results, at the same time encouraging them to return to the university walls. They also reminded that learning is a process that should accompany people throughout their whole life.

Graduates dressed in gowns and caps, received congratulatory letters in front of their supervisors, family members and friends. The ceremony was crowned with the traditional tossing of caps, symbolising the happy ending of studies and the beginning of a new stage in life.

The event was attended by almost 230 graduates of 1st and 2nd cycle studies in the following degree programmes: Art Therapy, National and International Security, Political and Public Counselling, Journalism and Social Communication, Pedagogy, Political Science, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and Human Resource Management. After the ceremony, the graduates could take a commemorative photo together.
