Recruitment of activities for the charity concert “City of Science for Ukraine” is open until 13 March 2022. The event will take place on 25 March 2022. The main goal of the concert is to support the fundraiser run by the University of Silesia for students from Ukraine and their families.
Recruitment of activities is conducted in three areas:
– Music Stage – concerts of student and employee music bands; debate of scientists entitled: “What’s Next?” and performances of popular Polish music stars. We encourage all individuals interested in performing on the stage in Katowice to apply through the application form,
– Ukraine Station – zone of academic discussions, consulting and answers to difficult questions about the war. In this place, scientists will have an opportunity to educate the inhabitants of Katowice in providing help, handling the current situation, and preparing for a future life with Ukrainian citizens. We invite all employees who are open to individual and group talks about the current situation (e.g. in the field of political science, education, learning foreign languages, sociology, history and psychology). You can apply by filling in the application form,
– Scienceville – exhibition stands zone, referring to the standard formula of exhibition stands at the Silesia Festival Sciences KATOWICE, prepared for inhabitants of Katowice of every age. Scienceville will be open for approximately 3 hours. We encourage all individuals interested in carrying out exhibition stands on the stage in Katowice to apply through the application form:
During the concert, the Katowice square will also host a fair, during which handicrafts, hand-made objects, and collectables raised during the collection will be displayed. If you would like to donate items for the fair, please deliver them to room 0.12 in the Student Services Centre at the Rectorate of the University of Silesia in Katowice (ul. Bankowa 12, ground floor). Funds collected during the fair will be donated to the fundraiser for the needs of the Ukrainian people.
The event will be open-air and is planned to last for several hours. For detailed information, please contact Radosław Aksamit (radoslaw.aksamit@us.edu.pl) and Krzysztof Pająk (krzysztof.pajak@us.edu.pl).
