Polish edition of Heimskringla by Snorri Sturluson
Members of the Centre have embarked on a collaboration on the Polish translation of one of the most important monuments of Icelandic literature. Heimskringla is a collection of 16 sagas devoted to Norwegian rulers from the so-called legendary times to the mid-twelfth century. It was written around 1230 by Snorri Sturluson, an Icelandic politician, poet and historiographer. The translation of the opus is financed by the grant of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities. The head of the project is Anna Waśko, Associate Professor of the Jagiellonian University. The Polish edition of Heimskringla is planned to be published in 2021.
Dissemination of the Latin Conceptual Metaphors in Old Norse-Icelandic literature as a Cognitive Manifestation of Christianization and Europeanization of Medieval Scandinavia
The project is financed by the National Science Centre funds (PRELUDIUM 14 programme, grant no. 2017/27/N/HS3/00740) and is carried out at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia from 19 July 2018 to 18 July 2022. The research project is led by Dr Grzegorz Bartusik.
eFONTES. Electronic Corpus of Polish Medieval Latin
Dr Grzegorz Bartusik is a member of the annotators’ team that works on the electronic corpus of Polish Medieval Latin. The “eFONTES. Electronic Corpus of Polish Medieval Latin” project is carried out at the Institute of the Polish Language of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow, under the National Programme for the Development of Humanities, grant number 0116/NPRH6/H11/85/2018. The project is led by Dr Krzysztof Nowak.

Symbolic Resources and Political Structures on the Periphery: Legitimization of the Elites in Poland and Norway, c. 1000-1300
Dr Grzegorz Bartusik is one of the collaborators of the Polish-Norwegian research project entitled “Zasoby symboliczne i struktury polityczne na peryferiach. Legitymizacja elit w Polsce i Norwegii, ok. 1000-1300” (Symbolic resources and political structures in the periphery. Legitimization of the elites in Poland and Norway, c. 1000-1300), carried out under the National Science Centre, grant number 2019/34/H/HS3/00500 (GRIEG competition), at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw in cooperation with the University of Oslo. The project is led by Prof. Grzegorz Pac.
