Centrum Badań Języka Śląskiego i Antropologii Regionalnej
The Centre for Research on the Silesian Language and Regional Anthropology aims primarily to support and develop the Silesian language and various aspects of Silesian culture amongst the population inhabiting both the present-day and historical regions of Silesia. Another important task of the Centre will be to promote knowledge of the Silesian language and culture amongst the general public. The unit is designed to bring together researchers from various fields, emphasising the interdisciplinary nature of regional studies. Its activities are part of the growing interest in Silesia’s cultural heritage and identity. Within the Centre, research will be carried out by scholars from various disciplines: linguistics, literary studies, cultural and religious studies, history, sociology, political science and public administration, psychology, education, media and social communication, as well as others.
