Jolanta Wadowska-Król
Centre for Post-Industrial Environmental Research
Changes to the natural environment, its constant exploitation, and careless management of its resources lead to the formation of pollutants, which in turn penetrate water, soil, and air, from where they can easily enter the human body. Living in such an environment for extended periods of time leads to serious health, socio-cultural, and environmental consequences. The Jolanta Wadowska-Król Centre for Post-Industrial Environmental Research was established to develop strategies for addressing these challenges (on a local and global scale), as well as for enacting effective preventative measures. The aim is to highlight activities that help to build health safety from the bottom up and prevent incidents that threaten the health and lives of people living not only in Silesia, but also those potentially exposed to the effects of industrial activities in other areas.
