Patent | System monitoring respiratory functions

A system for monitoring the body’s locomotor functions and respiratory functions has been developed by the scientists from the University of Silesia. Such modern systems based on data teletransmission can be successfully used in patients of all ages, including children. Fast transmission of information about the patient’s condition allows doctors to react immediately in the event of a threat to the life or health of a person struggling with dangerous respiratory diseases. The advantage of the invention is the ability to monitor several functions simultaneously on various receivers, including mobile devices, which guarantees easy access to the measurement results. In addition, the authors made sure that the device needs as little energy as possible for the data transmission process.

The solution has been covered by patent protection. The authors of the device are: Paweł Janik, PhD, Michał Pielka, MSc, Eng; and Małgorzata Janik, PhD from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Silesia.
