The Management Board of the Silesian Voivodeship has appointed a new Programme Council of the Silesian Library in Katowice. It consists of fourteen people, including four associated with the University of Silesia:
- Bożena Czwojdrak, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia,
- Prof. Katarzyna Krasoń from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia,
- Olga Przybyla, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia,
- Prof. Tadeusz Sławek – Rector of the University of Silesia in the years 1996–2002,
- Rev. Grzegorz Strzelczyk, PhD from the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia.
On 17 June 2024, the first meeting of the Programme Council was held, during which Olga Przybyla, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. was elected Vice-Chair.
The Programme Council is responsible for giving opinions and implementing the statutory activities of the Silesian Library. It consists of: a representative of the Silesian Voivodeship Assembly, a representative of the City of Katowice and experts in the fields relevant to the institution’s activities. The Director of the Silesian Library is Artur Madaliński, PhD.
