Prof. Jerzy Sperka appointed a member of the Board of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities

Prof. Jerzy Sperka, Director of the Institute of History at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia in Katowice, has been appointed a member of the Board of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The term of the Board expires in 2022. Prof. J. Sperka has already performed this function in 2017-2018, whereas in 2019 and 2020 he was the chair of teams of experts in competitions organised by the National Programme for the Development of Humanities.

The Board of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities is a 12-person advisory panel for the Minister of Science and Higher Education, which consists of representatives of humanities. The role of the Board is to prepare guidelines, goals and competition procedures for the National Programme for the Development of Humanities, as well as to supervise their implementation and the application assessment procedure.
