From 1 October 2020 the operating rules of the University of Silesia, in connection with the pandemic situation, will be based on the system of four security levels. Depending on the present risk, Rector of the University of Silesia, in consultation with the Team for Monitoring the University Operation during the COVID-19 epidemic, will determine and announce the currently effective security level:

  • GREEN – level 0 – no restrictions in the University operation;
  • YELLOW – level 1 – basic sanitary regime (currently effective at the University)
  • ORANGE – level 2 – increased sanitary regime;
  • RED – level 3 – suspension of University operation.

Every level has a defined method of didactic organisation, scientific research conduct, availability of infrastructure, mobility and work performance. This solution will allow you to determine the regime which is effective in particular areas of the University’s activity, as well as the differences between regime levels if the epidemiological situation significantly changes.

Information about the currently effective security level is available in the alert bar at the top of the website: www.us.edu.pl. After clicking the alert tab, you will find guidelines prepared for specific groups of recipients (employees, students, doctoral students). Detailed information about the security measures can be found on: www.us.edu.pl/uczelnia/status-zabezpieczen-covid-19.

The University currently operates at level 1 (yellow). With the entry into force of the new system of security level symbols on 1 October 2020, all previous ordinances and announcements on COVID-19 shall expire.

Detailed information are provided by specific Deans, individuals appointed by them, heads of relevant administrative units and members of the Team for Monitoring the University Operation during the COVID-19 epidemic (e-mail address: covid@us.edu.pl).
