Alicja Juszkiewicz and Tommie Lisowska, students of the University of Silesia and members of the Game Studies Research Centre, have been accepted to the international academic conference Replaying Japan 2026, co-organised by DiGRA Japan.
The conference will focus on researching social change through transmedia and East Asian video games. During the event, organisers and speakers will highlight pop culture ecosystems, fandoms, and fan communities.
Both students will present their paper ‘The Tragic Death of Girlhood – H-Games as a Scheme of Obliterating the Boundary Between a Child and a Woman with the Use of Pornographic Rites of Passage’.
Tommie Lisowska is also a recipient of the University of Silesia’s Wild Index—an award in a competition that enables laureates to study through a special admissions process based on their achievements and skills.
Details can be found on the conference website.
