Ministerial scholarships for outstanding young scientists

In 2021, the Minister of National Education granted 217 scholarships for outstanding young scientists who can boast of their significant achievements in scientific activity. The ceremony, in which the participated representatives of the scholarship winners, took place on 23 June 2021 in Warsaw.

The scholarships were granted to young scientists carrying out innovative research of high quality and having impressive scientific achievements of great international prestige. Among the winners we can find scientists from the University of Silesia:

  • Dorota Gregorowicz, PhD; the Faculty of Humanities (history);
  • Yaroslav Grosu, PhD; the Faculty of Science and Technology (chemical sciences);
  • Maciej Kapkowski, PhD; the Faculty of Science and Technology (chemical sciences);
  • Kasper Pfeifer, PhD student of the Faculty of Humanities (literary studies).

This year, 1897 applications have been submitted, 1835 of which met the formal requirements and underwent an evaluation process.

The winners will receive a scholarship of PLN 5,390 per month through the period of up to 3 years. In order to fund the scholarships throughout this period of time, the Minister of National Education will spend almost PLN 42,000,000.
