Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice became a member of CILECT. CILECT is the most prestigious international association of film schools, established in Cannes in 1954. Currently, the association includes over 180 film schools from 65 countries on 6 continents. The association has a network of graduates exceeding 1,330,000, and annually the associated film schools educate over 60,000 students in various film-related fields.
Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School was accepted unanimously during the general meeting of members during the CILECT congress in Rome. This is the culmination of a multi-month application process, which included, among others: inspection visit of Prof. Bruce Sheridan, the president of CILECT in Katowice in April 2023.
