The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is pleased to announce the NAWA Chair programme. The objective of the NAWA Chair programme is to support the highest quality scientific and research as well as didactic activities conducted by Polish academic and scientific units by including world-class foreign scientists in these activities. The programme is addressed to selected institutions of the higher education and science system, among others Polish universities, scientific institutes and research institutes. They will be allowed to invite to Poland outstanding specialists from thematic priority areas, who will significantly develop breakthrough research, strengthen their teaching activities and support these institutions in preparing applications for prestigious grants. Under the programme, it will be possible to employ scientists with outstanding international achievements from various countries around the world for a period of 36-48 months, and create project groups for them. The programme also offers an option of covering the costs of scientific research in the field of basic research (research component) financed by the National Science Centre in Poland. The first edition of the programme is open to the fields of humanities, social and theological sciences.

The call for applications is open until July 31, 2020.
