Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Coordinator of Nodal Research in Nuclear Physics (1986–1990). Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the European Physical Society, correspondent member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Physics Letters Committee, meritorious for the development of cooperation with Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain and Italy.
