An assyriologist, hetologist, sumerologist, Egyptologist, semitologist, orientalist, philologist and creator of the Polish school of thought of Ancient East philology. Greek and Latin teacher, an assistant at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the University of Lviv, and a professor of the University of Warsaw (1934–1964). Prisoner of the camp in Watenstedt near Braunschweig (1942–1945).
