Outstanding scientist, physicist, Nobel Prize winner of 1987 along with K.A. Müller. PhD at IBM Research Division in Zurich Research Laboratory in Rüschlikon in Switzerland. Member of numerous international associations and scientific institutions. He won numerous international awards. Specialist in the fields of experimental physics, physics of high-temperature superconductivity, physics of phase transitions and ferroelectric properties of perovskite oxides, physics of transition metal oxides and its purpose in microelectronics, and physics of thin films and heterostructures of metal-insulator-metal type. He received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Salzburg and Regensburg.
