On 2 February 2023 in Washington, D.C., Jane Sargus, the Executive Director of the Congressional Office For International Leadership, officially inaugurated the study visit of the ‘Open World’ programme concerning the social inclusion of people with disabilities.

Among the participants is Anna Nawrot, USil Coordinator for Accessibility, who acts as a facilitator. She was responsible for professional support for delegates with disabilities.

During the meeting, Prof. Sam Potolicchio of Georgetown University introduced the participants to the context of the American vision of leadership. The participants also visited Gallaudet University, which is a world leader in the education of the Deaf.

In the coming days, the participants will move to Indiana and Kentucky, where they will have a chance to see in practice the mechanisms of inclusion of people with disabilities in education, employment and social services, as well as respect for civil rights.
