From 23 May 2023, the purchase of plane, train, bus and ferry tickets, as well as the visa process, will be realised by the WHYNOTTRAVEL ZAŁOGA NASTERNAK SPÓŁKA KOMANDYTOWA LP company and their subcontractors.
All people travelling on business trips who submitted their application at the International Relations Department / International Mobility Settlement Office are obliged to book their tickets via the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. It concerns employees, PhD students, students as well as people outside and guests
New agreement on a complex organisation of trips abroad
The cooperation with the travel agency takes effect on 23 May 2023 based on Agreement No. DZP.381.093.2022.UGU for a complex organisation of trips abroad – booking, sale and service according to the current needs for plane, train, bus and ferry tickets as well as the visa process. A detailed procedure for booking tickets and information about the visa process below:
Ticket purchase procedure
Any inquiry about the travel offer is to be sent to email@example.com along with the following details:
- In the email subject type: UNIWERSYTET ŚLĄSKI
- Full name of the departing person – according to the details on your ID and passport
- Date of departure
- Is the date flexible? Within what time range search for routes?*
- Place of departure
- Date of returning
- Place of arrival or landing
- 2nd class ticket (applies to: train tickets)
- Type of luggage: carry-on, checked-in (applies to: flights)
- Phone number of the departing person (information might be of utmost importance in case of emergency, e.g. a cancelled flight)
- Email address of the departing person
- Other relevant information concerning ticket/visa purchase
*Please inform the travel agency whether the date of departure is flexible, and—for example—the agency may suggest connections a day before/later. After providing such information, the ticket price may be more favourable. If the departing person does not mark the flexible date, they will be provided with a suggestion for the specific date of a trip selected by them.
In the process of purchasing air tickets, the deadlines for booking tickets are currently short, and in the case of the so-called ‘low-cost airlines,’ the price of the ticket changes dynamically, which is imposed by the airlines. Hence, please send your inquiries about a trip to WhyNotTravel only after submitting a WP or WS application to the International Relations Department.
Tickets are sent in an electronic form to the departing person’s email or delivered to the address of an indicated unit of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Sosnowiec, Chorzów or Cieszyn. The departing person does not pay for the ticket. All payments are handled by the International Relations Department.
If the journey by plane consists of several independent sections on different tickets, in the event of a delay or cancellation of one flight, the traveller loses further connections and bears the costs related to the further stage of the journey. When making single purchases on low-cost airlines’ websites, there is no guarantee of price or place on the next stages of your journey.
WhyNotTravel confirms the possibility of purchasing the ticket in the International Relations Department. The International Relations Department confirms the possibility of purchasing tickets in electronic form within the working hours 7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
You may have your visa received through WHYNOTTRAVEL
WHYNOTTRAVEL company provides proper visa forms and mediates the process of receiving a visa. The visa cost is covered by faculty funds.
The visa service provided is funded from the source indicated on the trip application.
The visa cost constitutes the income of the departing person and is taxable by personal income tax.

Do bear in mind that in addition to the visa price, you need to plan the transaction fee of 39,00 PLN gross (including VAT) on your application for a trip abroad.
The agreement is implemented by the International Mobility Settlement Office / International Relations Department: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to facilitate the procedure of ticket purchase, one should apply a communication pattern agreed upon with the travel agency and indicate the flexibility of a trip, i.e. whether it is possible to set off/come back a day before/later. As the travel agency has said, the price of such a ticket may differ significantly, thus lowering the price of a trip.
