Another edition of the ‘Sprawdzian z polskiego’ [Polish Language Test] took place on 15 August 2023 in Cieszyn during the 33rd Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture. Nearly 200 people from all over the world took part in the dictation.
Ana Todorović from Serbia won the competition and received the Foreign Champion of the Polish Language title.
The vice-champions include:
- Michael Timofeev from Bulgaria — 1st Foreign Vice-Champion of the Polish Language,
- Sara Pappalardo from Italy — 2nd Foreign Vice-Champion of the Polish Language,
- Iryna Kapushchak from Ukraine — 2nd Foreign Vice-Champion of the Polish Language.
The jury also presented ‘5+’ awards to the people who received the highest scores in the dictation within each group. Among the ‘5+’ awards recipients were:

- Anita Ilić,
- Shiori Hosaka,
- Clara Hintze,
- Noemi Parolin,
- João Antonio Fabrini Lobo da Silva,

- Olesya Nakhlik.
In turn, the title of ‘Orzełek Polskiej Ortografii’ [2nd Ace of Polish Orthography] went to Nina Makukha, and the title of ‘Orzeł’ [1st Ace] went to Uliana Levko.
The ‘Sprawdzian z polskiego’ [Polish Language Test] competition has been organised continuously since 1998 by the School of Polish Language and Culture. The participants are foreigners who are tasked with writing a dictation. The main prize is the possibility to participate free of charge in the next Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture in Cieszyn.
