The fundraisers and collections conducted by the University of Silesia bring real benefits to many people who have left Ukraine – a place that has been struggling with the war for over two weeks.

The academic community has shown remarkable generosity in providing the necessary products, as a result of which many people in need received aid in the form of food and drink, cleaning supplies, hygiene supplies and clothes.

The amount of funds raised for the benefit of refugees is already over PLN 100,000. The possibility of contributing to donation and support refugees is still valid. This can be done at: zrzutka.pl/k8n5fy. There is also a fundraiser for the purchase of medical devices and first aid supplies for a hospital in Khmelnytsky, Ukraine. So far, almost PLN 80,000 have been collected. Payments can be made to the account of the Palliative Care Association “Nadzieja”, operating at the Hospital in Czeladź (details).

The number of canned food reached several hundred. The donors also provided several cartons of noodles, groats and rice, around 500 instant soups, coffee and tea. We managed to collect about 500 toothbrushes and toothpaste, several hundred shower gels, shampoos, deodorants and soaps. The gifts also include many items for babies, such as diapers, wet wipes, milk powder and porridges.

Anyone in need could also get towels and clothes.

So far, about 70 starter packages have been released and are still being distributed.

All forms of financial or material support are presented on the website: us.edu.pl/en/ukraina.
