We have completed the first round of admissions for 1st cycle and long-cycle studies at the University of Silesia. This year’s results show a growing interest in studying at our University.
Rapid growth
A total of 24,968 applications were submitted via the Online Application System (last year there were 19,689, representing an increase of over 26% in the number of applications compared with the 2025/2026 academic year).
Prospective students were able to apply for several degree programmes simultaneously, and the total number of applicants who took part in the admissions process was 14,496 (up from 12,130 in 2025). This shows that those choosing the University of Silesia are interested in multiple pathways of development simultaneously and are keen to take advantage of our diverse educational offer, often applying for several degree programmes.
This excellent result is the fruit of the joint efforts of many people. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all staff members involved in preparing our academic programmes and for supporting applicants at every stage of the admissions process.

Average number of applicants per place – university-wide perspective
Competition for places on full-time degree programmes was exceptionally high this year. The average number of applicants per place across the University for the most popular programmes was as follows:
- 1st cycle studies: an average of 4 applicants per place,
- Long-cycle studies: an average of 5 applicants per place.

Schedule of the second round of admissions for 1st cycle and long-cycle studies – full-time and part-time
- from 23 July (12.00 p.m.) to 26 July (11.59 p.m.) – submission of applications via the Online Application System
- 28 July – the final day for payment of the admission fee
- 30 July – announcement of the lists of successful candidates
- 31 July – submission of documents by successful candidates to the relevant dean’s offices
