The Katowice City Singers’ Ensemble ‘Camerata Silesia’ has been nominated to 5 categories of Poland’s most prestigious music award – Fryderyk 2025. The Ensemble is directed and conducted by Prof. Anna Szostak-Myrczek of the USil Faculty of Arts and Educational Science.
The Ensemble has been nominated to the following categories:
- Korczak: Da mihi bibere (Album of the Year: Choral Music),
- Witold Szalonek: Pieśni o Śląsku (Album of the Year: Choral Music and Most Outstanding Polish Music Recording),
- Tęskni dzioucha do syneczka – Songs of Silesian Uprisings (Album of the Year: Classical Crossover),
- Witold Szalonek: Connections (Album of the Year: Concerto Music).
The Awards Gala takes place on 30 March 2025 at the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.
Formed in 1990, ‘Camerata Silesia’ is a leading chamber singing group in Poland. The Camerata is famous for its excellent renditions of contemporary and early music. Through their renditions, they promote Poland and the City of Katowice at performances in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and Asia.
