It is with pain, sadness
and a sense of great loss
that we have received the news about the death of

 

 

 

Prof. Andrzej Noras

 

long-term employee of the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Silesia,
Vice-Rector for Research in 2016–2020,
Deputy Dean for Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2012–2016,
long-term Head of the Department of the History of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy,
outstanding specialist in the field of history of philosophy.

 

He will remain in our memories as a remarkable scholar and renowned academic,
author of numerous research papers, tutor of many generations of philosophers,
committed to people and academic affairs, always ready to provide help and good advice,
respected and widely recognised in the community.

 

 

May he rest in peace.
