My research interests include travel discourses, postcolonial studies, representations of the Orient in Western literature and art, and contemporary British and American fiction by women. I hold a PhD degree from the University of Wroc\u0142aw, Poland. My monograph <em>A Mosaic of Misunderstanding: Occident, Orient, and Facets of Mutual Misconstrual<\/em> was published in 2016 by Peter Lang Verlag. My research articles have appeared in international journals and refereed collections published by Routledge, Peter Lang, Berghahn and others. I am also the co-editor of two academic volumes and external reviewer for i.a. <em>European Journal of American Studies<\/em>, <em>Interdisciplinary Literary Studies: A Journal of Criticism and Theory<\/em>, <em>Journal of Mediterranean Studies<\/em>, <em>Litteraria Copernicana<\/em>, and <em>Crossroads: A Journal of English Studies<\/em>. I have participated in fifty international conferences held in the UK, Germany, Spain and the Balearic Islands, Portugal, Turkey, France, Belgium, Estonia, Croatia, Malta, Italy, Cyprus, Denmark, Austria, Morocco, and Poland. I have been giving guest lectures and conducting workshops at various British, European, Asian and African universities and research centres. I have been a doctoral advisor in two PhD theses written in the field of literary studies. I have worked on organizing and scientific committees of five international conferences. In 2016 I was the recipient of the Peter Lang Young Scholars Award for Best Monograph in the Humanities, and in 2012 during my PhD studies at the University of Wroc\u0142aw, Poland, I was awarded the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scientists.
