Prof. Gregory Bryant

Professor Gregory Bryant is Professor and Chair at the Department of Communication University of California, Los Angeles. Professor Bryant is a cognitive scientist interested in the evolution of vocal communication and social behavior. His research is focused on the acoustic analyses of vocalizations, perception experiments, and cross-cultural field studies. His works were published in head journals such as Proceedings of the Royal Society, Human Nature, Evolution and Human Behavior, Emotion Review, or Behavioral and Brain Sciences.  He is also an author of music and video exhibitions (e.g., Laughter Lab, Cartoon Museum, London, UK).

Prof. Virpi Lummaa

Virpi Lummaa is a Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Turku in Finland. Her main areas of interest are evolutionary ecology and genetics, human life history, reproductive success, and behavioral ecology. Her recent works concern competition within families, the role of socio-cultural similarities in the context of migrations, and intergenerational transmission of reproductive success. She authored more than 150 papers in scientific journals (e.g., Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, Journal of Comparative Psychology) which were cited almost 5000 times.

Prof. Jenny Tung

Professor Jenny Tung is a director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany. She co-directs the Amboseli Baboon Research Project, one of the longest-running primate field sites in the world. Professor Tung’s Department of Primate Behavior and Evolution will integrate field studies of wild primates with molecular and genetic analysis to understand the patterns and processes that explain primate biodiversity. She published is such journal as Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, Cell, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Proceedings of the Royal Society.

Prof. Martin Tovee

Professor Martin Tovee is a Chair in Visual Cognition at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Northumbria University in Newcastle. His research explores human mate selection and the perception of physical attractiveness in an evolutionary psychology context. He also studies body image dysfunction in eating-disordered patients. He published is such journals as Body Image, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Journal of Neurophysiology, and Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B: Biological Sciences.

The winner of the Professor Jan Strzałko Award for outstanding young scientist for 2023

Marta Kowal, PhD

Marta Kowal, PhD, holds a post-doc position at the University of Wrocław (Wrocław, Poland). Her research interests include social psychology and cross-cultural studies, while her primary focus lies in research on romantic love and mate attraction. She is the winner of  The Professor Jan Strzałko Award for Outstanding Young Scientist for 2023.
