The amount of content on the websites of the University of Silesia in Katowice, which is translated into English, increases every week. Therefore, it is of key importance that the content translated by the Media Communication Centre, the Centre of Translation Services, and outside companies is coherent. For that purpose, the “Polish-English Glossary of University Terms” has been created for many months and has just become an officially binding document. The Regulation of the Rector of the University of Silesia of 29 March 2021 on the rules for using the glossary has been published on the BIP website.
About the glossary
According to the Regulation, the terms in the glossary apply to all official Polish-English and English-Polish translations at the University of Silesia. The up-to-date version of the glossary is always available at us.edu.pl/en/uczelnia/polsko-angielski-glosariusz-terminow-uniwersyteckich.
Any comments on or proposed changes to the glossary should be sent to tlumaczenia@us.edu.pl.
