The Śląskie Voivodeship Executive Board has appointed Dr Karol Makles from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia for the position of Acting Director of the Silesian Museum in Katowice. He will perform this function from 31 January until the selection process for the post of Museum Director has been concluded.
Dr Karol Makles – Doctor of Humanities in the field of bibliology and information science, employee of the Institute of Culture Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice, director of the following study programmes: Information Architecture, Information and Library Studies, as well as Information in E-Society Institutions, bibliographer, enthusiast of Silesian history and culture. He specialises in cultural heritage, culture and history of book and press, as well as modern information tools.
