The research “Students on climate” is the fourth part of the project “Humanistic forecast for climate” and concern the implementation of climate and environmental education at the academic level.

The aim of the project is to collect comprehensive data taking into account the experiences and opinions of students on the implementation of education for the climate, which will allow for the development of student education paths in the area of responsibility for the Earth, as well as for the creation of scientific and didactic materials.

The project “Humanistic forecast for climate” is realised by Anna Guzy, PhD, and Magdalena Ochwat, PhD, from the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research on Humanistic Education of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Earlier research carried out as part of this project concerned Polish language teachers, students, and parents of students. Their results are available on the website of the University of Silesia.

Now, the invitation to participate in the project is addressed to students who can answer the questions in the questionnaire until the end of January 2023. The researchers need the answers to the following questions:

is the number of issues related to climate and the environment addressed in the course of higher education adequate?

are the issues of the climate crisis substantively related to studied degree programme?

what should a course on this topic look like?

The report “Students for Climate” will be published in February 2023 on the websites of the University of Silesia, Europe DIRECT Śląskie and Pro Silesia Biznes-Nauka-Samorząd.
