Ecological Thinking Club: “Can we fix our world?”

The guest of the 68th meeting of Ecological Thinking Club will be Prof. Ladislav Miko – Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovakia (since 2018), former Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic. The meeting will be hosted by Prof. Piotr Skubała (Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia) and Ryszard Kulik, PhD (Workshop for All Beings).

The meeting will be broadcast on Facebook (in English) and on YouTube (translated into Polish).

The meeting is organised by Ecological Thinking Club, Metropolis GZM and the University of Silesia.

Prof. Ladislav Miko – Czech biologist and recognized acarologist. Director for Nature in the Directorate-General for Environment of the European Commission in 2005–2009. In this position, he held responsibility for nature and biodiversity, agriculture, soils and forests. Deputy Director-General for the Food Chain of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission in 2011–2018. He dealt with issues of food safety throughout the whole food chain, including e.g. plant and animal health, pesticides, biotechnology, food hygiene, nutrition, or food sustainability. Academic Professor at Charles University and at the University of Life Sciences in Prague, and Guest Professor at University of Antwerp. Founder of the Green Party in Slovakia.
