Field Session | New Image of Former Industrial Cities in Metropolis GZM

The field session ‘New Image of Former Industrial Cities in Metropolis GZM’ takes place on Saturday, 11 May 2024; the event is organised by the USil Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Polish Geographical Society, Branch in Katowice.

The programme includes:

  • workshops at the Landscape Reading Station on the rooftop of the USil Faculty of Natural Sciences in Sosnowiec;
  • lecture by Marta Chmielewska, PhD: ‘Post-industrial heritage of the contemporary Europe’;
  • field session along the trail of the post-industrial heritage of the selected cities in the Metropolis GZM;
  • lunch;
  • an underground tour around the Queen Luise Adit in Zabrze,

Detailed information and registration form. Participation in the event is free of charge. The number of places is limited.

The event is carried out within the City-Region-Academia Stream as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. The event is co-funded by the Silesian Voivodeship – the co-organiser of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
