From 27 to 29 June 2025, the Prof. Józef Świder 10th International Festival of Music in Cieszyn will be held in the auditorium of the ‘Dom Narodowy’ Cieszyn Cultural Centre (ul. Rynek 12).
The aim of the Festival is to cultivate singing traditions, develop interest in choral music and promote and popularise the compositional work of Józef Świder as well as other composers associated with Cieszyn Silesia. Participants will also have the opportunity to exchange artistic, cultural and educational experiences, improve the performance level of amateur choral groups and promote contemporary choral literature.
The festival will include:
- 27 June 2025 – 5th National Scientific Conference ‘Silesian Composers and Their Music’ (details below);
- 27–29 June 2025 – festival concerts in Silesian towns;
- 28 June 2025 – Prof. Józef Świder International Choir Competition (in the event of a large number of qualified choirs, the competition in some categories may be held on 27 June);
- 28 June 2025 – concert of festival winners;
- 29 June 2025 – gala concert of the Prof. Józef Świder 10th International Festival of Music.
The competition is intended for amateur Polish and foreign groups. The Artistic Council appointed by the organisers decides on admission to the Festival.
The Grand Prix and all special prizes in the on-site competition are cash prizes.
Applications are accepted until 31 March at: festiwalswider@us.edu.pl. By 30 April, qualified choirs will be informed about their admission to the Festival.

The event is organised by the Institute of Music of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia.
5th National Scientific Conference ‘Silesian Composers and Their Music’

During the jubilee edition of the festival, the Conference Scientific Committee was established, with eminent personalities from the world of science confirming their participation. These include:
