The Prof. Józef Świder 10th International Festival of Music in Cieszyn will take place from 27 to 29 June 2025 at ‘Dom Narodowy’ Cieszyn Centre of Culture’s Concert Hall (ul. Rynek 12).
The Festival is to preserve and promote singing traditions, foster interests in choral music, and promote compositional works of Józef Świder and other composers related to the area of Cieszyn Silesia. Participants will have a chance to exchange artistic, cultural and educational experiences, improve the level of performance of amateur choral ensembles and promote modern choral literature.
The Festival will feature:
- 27 June 2025 – 5th Polish National Scientific Conference: ‘National Composers and Their Music’;
- 27–29 June 2025 – festival concerts across Silesia;
- 28 June 2025 – International Choral Competition named after prof. Józef Świder (in the case of a large number of choirs that qualified, the competition in some categories may take place on 27 June);
- 28 June 2025 – concert with the participation of the laureates;
- 29 June 2025 – Gala Concert of the 10th Józef Świder International Festival of Music.
The competition is addressed to Polish and international amateur choirs. The event has a dedicated Artistic Council appointed by the organisers; the Council is entitled to take a decision concerning the qualification of choirs.
The Grand Prix Prize and all the other special prizes in the on-site competitions are financial prizes.
