IDEA

Each year, the Professor Józef Pieter Award honours one outstanding teacher who works in a primary or secondary school in the Silesian Voivodeship. It is awarded to a teacher whose work demonstrates the fundamental importance of education for the development of children and youth; who effectively shares their love for knowledge, combines the qualities and skills of an outstanding subject teacher and a committed educator; who is open, tolerant and fair. Thus, persons who present the attitude and values close to the patron of the award, Prof. Józef Pieter.

The originators and organisers of the competition want the Professor Józef Pieter Award to be an impulse for a movement of social appreciation for teachers. The goal is for the initiative to involve not only school communities, but also local communities who know the local teaching staff.

The completely open formula for submitting candidates allows everyone to recommend people who have a significant influence on the development and success of students—in education, as well as in their social and personal lives. Let’s show how important our teachers are to us!
