Prof. Józef Pieter (1904–1989)
As a psychologist, pedagogue and philosopher, Prof. Józef Pieter devoted his life and work to researching psychology and the mechanisms of teaching and learning, comparing pedagogical systems, the process of reasoning, as well as the methodology and organisation of research.
Born in Ochaby, in the rural part of Cieszyn, Prof. Józef Pieter was strongly attached to his native Silesia, where he was a lecturer for over 50 years and is considered one of the founding fathers of the University of Silesia.
Prof. Józef Pieter was mentioned a number of times in the Gazeta Uniwersytecka UŚ (USil Magazine) and a radio programme devoted to his biography was created.
