Prof. K. Markiewicz as the Chair of the Codification Committee on Court System and Prosecution Offices

On 28 March 2024, Krystian Markiewicz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor was appointed the Chair of the Codification Commission on the Court System and Prosecution Offices [Komisja Kodyfikacyjna Ustroju Sądownictwa i Prokuratury] by Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland.

Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice presented Prof. Krystian Markiewicz with the appointment letter on 3 April.

The aim of the committee is to develop legal acts on the court system and prosecution offices by lawyers and experts regarding the court system and prosecution. Members of the committee will be involved in carrying out analytical, conceptual, and legislative work on draft legislation.

Krystian Markiewicz, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor, is a specialist in civil law and procedure, a long-standing lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice, and President of the Polish Judges Association “Iustitia” since 2016.
