According to the statistics of World Health Organization (WHO), cancer diseases are the main cause of deaths around the world, which is why it is important to search for new chemical compounds with anti-carcinogenic properties.

Katarzyna Malarz, PhD from the Institute of Physics at the University of Silesia in Katowice, a winner of the “Freedom of research” call for proposals, specialises in studying fullerene nanomaterials, which provide the prospect of developing new anti-cancer drugs.
