TO MOBILITY

We all miss the “normality” from before the pandemic – rectors, chancellors, scientists, teachers, administrative staff, as well as students and doctoral students. The basis for our activities is conversation and meeting – ideally directly, face to face. We exchange experiences, establishing live contact with the academic environment around the world.

At the moment, there is no possibility of free movement between the countries yet. All cooperation is established and maintained virtually. However, everyone of us hopes that we will soon begin to go abroad again, use laboratories, host outstanding scientists, and get to know the work of the best research units in the world not only through Instagram and Research Gate.

Once this happens, the „Mobility | Science” programme will be launched under Research Excellence Initiative, and enable the researchers associated with the University of Silesia to take part in scientific internships abroad.

At this point we would like to present some reports on the experiences we have already gained. Thirteen scientists decided to share accounts of their research trips. These are the winners of the “Staff mobility” call for proposals, who completed scientific internships in foreign academic centres. Subsequent episodes will be published once a week, and all accounts will be shared on this website as part of the “Back to mobility” series.
