Implemented projects

‘STUDIES AND WHAT NEXT – Increasing the Competitiveness of University of Silesia Students in the Labour Market’ – the aim of the project is to develop and improve the quality of services provided by the Career Office by supporting students in starting their professional activity on the labour market during the project. The project lasted until 30 April 2021 and was financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund. More information can be found on the Career Office’s website.

‘TIME FOR INTERNSHIP – Grants for Social Innovators Offering New Solutions for Practical Vocational Training in the Transition From Education to Work’ – the aim of the project is to support the process of transition from the education system to professional activity by disseminating solutions developed by students of vocational schools, students, craftsmen and companies. The project lasted from July 2016 to September 2019 and was financed by the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. ‘TEchnologies for Young ENtrepreneurs’ (TEEN) – the aim of the project was to learn how to disseminate entrepreneurial culture and IT tools that support entrepreneurship among young people. The project lasted from August 2013 to July 2015 and was financed by the Leonardo da Vinci Programme. More information can be found on the Office’s and project’s website.

‘Career programming – support for young people on the labour market’ – the aim of the project was professional activation and increasing the employability of 60 project participants who remained unemployed by equipping them with qualifications and skills corresponding to the diagnosed needs of employers. The project lasted from February 2014 to April 2015 and was financed from the Human Capital Operational Programme. More information can be found on the Office’s and project’s website.

‘Development of Career Guidance Aimed at Improving Higher Education in Serbia’ – the aim of the project was to create a National Programme and Career Guidance Methodology, as well as a career planning guide ‘CareerS Kit’ for students and academic employees. The project lasted from 2011 to 2014 – and was financed by the Tempus Programme. More information about the project on the Office’s and project’s website.

‘Go to work. Polish Young Professionals on European Labour Market’ – the aim of the project was to strengthen the professional potential of graduates of exact sciences and to enable them to gain professional experience abroad, improve their intercultural and language competencies, and introduce them to the working conditions in an international environment. ‘Academic Entrepreneurship for START’ – the aim of the project was to increase the level of creativity and support the transfer of knowledge and entrepreneurial attitudes among university students of the Silesian Voivodeship. ‘Innovation Creator – Support for Innovative Academic Entrepreneurship’ – the aim of the project was to promote the idea of entrepreneurship in the academic environment and to support its participants in setting up and running their own businesses. ‘Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme at Universities in the Silesian Voivodeship’ – the aim of the project was, among others, to promote creativity and entrepreneurship among students and academic staff of universities in the Silesian Voivodeship. Organised events

‘Career Fair’ and ‘Jobs Spot’ – the aim of both events was to enable students and graduates of the University of Silesia to meet with representatives of leading employers in the Silesian Voivodeship. The events were carried out in 2013 – 2015, with the ‘Career Fair’ taking place in March and ‘Jobs Spot’ in October. More information is available on the Office’s website.

Bachelor’s Degree and What Next?’ Meetings – their aim was to get answers to all questions related to the possibility of making a career by 1st cycle studies graduates. Meetings were held in 2013. More information about the event can be found on the Office’s website.

‘Which way to work?’ Meetings – their aim was to create a platform for information exchange between specialists in specific fields and students considering pursuing a chosen profession in the future. The meetings were held from 2010 to 2012. More information about the event can be found on the Office’s website.

Organised competitions

‘Internship Provider of the Year of the Silesian Voivodeship’ – its aim is to promote the idea of organising valuable apprenticeships and internships, e.g. by selecting the best internship providers in the region and informing students about them. The Competition has been running since 2014. More information can be found on the Office’s and the Competition’s website.

Competition for the best marketing strategy of the Career Office ‘Build a strategy and grab your studies’ – the aim of the competition was to create the best marketing strategy of the USil Career Office. The competition was held in 2013 and was financed by the University of Silesia. More information about the competition can be found on the Office’s website.

‘Competition for the best diploma thesis seeking innovative solutions’ – the aim of the competition was to select the best diploma thesis that proposes innovative solutions in one of the indicated thematic areas.
