University Residential Area in Cieszyn

Welcome to Cieszyn, a town with preserved medieval urban arrangement and numerous monuments as well as sightseeing attractions. The unique atmosphere present in Cieszyn is due to generations of its inhabitants – of various nationalities, religions, cultures and traditions. The town is located on the Olza river which marks a boundary between the Polish and Czech part of Cieszyn. More details on Cieszyn and its attractions:

Cieszyn Campus consists of didactic and sport facilities (swimming pool, gyms, ballet hall, pitches) as well as a library branch and, obviously, social facilities such as two student residence halls, student canteen and “Panopticum” Student Club. The whole Campus is located in a beautiful park consisting of didactic facilities equipped with lecture halls, classrooms and laboratories, library branch, sport facilities and two student residence halls. The “stone’s throw” distances of up to several hundred metres allow for a leisurely walk between the facilities.

In turn, the centre, with its beautiful market square and numerous flower shops, can be reached in 15 minutes by foot.

University Residential Area in Cieszyn is located in the vicinity of Faculty of Arts and Educational Science and it is mostly students of this faculty who are our residents. Additionally, each year we invite – both during the academic year and during vacation – participants of various events: Summer School of Polish Language, Literature and Culture, which has been integrating youth from all over the world, Polish Academic Championships in numerous disciplines, International Student’s Folklore Festival, Cinema on the Border (Kino na Granicy), LAG Festival (Festival of Art and Independent Games), numerous conferences, student ‘icebreaker’ meetings, Student Government meetings and other events related to local culture as well as culture of other regions.

Access

Cieszyn bus and railway stations are within 800 metres’ distance from the Campus. Moreover, many bus and minibus stops are located on both sides of ulica Bielska (direction: Bielsko-Biała, Cracow). There is also a public bus line no 40 with stops additionally located by the railway station.

Shopping

Shopping points are located at ulica Bielska, some 200 metres away from the Campus where one will find Lidl, a supermarket chain, as well as a small grocery store offering, among other things, delicious “Cieszyn sandwiches”. Other stores located in the vicinity include Biedronka and Kaufland discount supermarkets. One can also make a buy in Stela shopping mall.

Student residence halls offer:

  • single and double rooms in segmental arrangement;
  • parking lots free of charge;
  • reception desk available 24 hours;
  • access to the internet;
  • laundry free of charge;
  • vacuum cleaners and irons free of charge;
  • possibility to pay with cards in the administration offices of both premises;
  • bedlinen free of charge (each of the residence halls is furnished with linen stores where you can collect and change bed sheets free of charge);
  • access to shared areas such as a TV room, a computer room, study rooms and, in the case of the student residence hall “UŚKA” – artistic studio.

What to bring with you:

  • vessels, pots, cutlery;
  • towels;
  • sanitary items;
  • hairdryer.

Additional information:

  • smoking ban on the premises;
  • you are allowed to bring in your pet on condition that you present a valid medical record book (along with vaccinations) and that you obtain consent on the part of your flat mates.
