The Institute of Political Sciences will host prof. Christian Welzel, a prominent researcher at Leuphana University in Lueneburg and director of research at the World Values Survey. The professor is known for his model of cultural dimensions, which measures emancipatory and secular values. Welzel’s research focuses on human empowerment, democratization, and cultural change. May 31 (Wednesday) at 11.30, prof. Christian Welzel will lecture (combined with a discussion) on “Democratic Horizons: what value change tells us about the future of Democracy?” After the lecture, we plan a more intimate meeting, during which we anticipate the possibility of short presentations and consultations on current projects of employees and doctoral students. The lecture is to be open.

A meeting in a smaller group should optimally be closed in several projects, so interested people are kindly requested to send information about their willingness to participate (agnieszka.turska-kawa@us.edu.pl, the order of applications is decisive).

The location of the lecture and meeting will be announced soon.
