Dear Doctoral Students,

On behalf of the University of Silesia, I would like to inform you of the existence of the Data Stewards group, which has been established to support our academic community in the area of Research Data Management (RDM) and the preparation of Data Management Plans (DMP). This initiative is particularly relevant for those of you who are currently or will be working on grant proposals and need support in the area of RDM and DMP.

In line with the Rector’s Order 147, I would like to remind you that all grant proposal documents, including Data Management Plans, should be ready at least two weeks before the submission deadline. This is crucial to allow adequate time to work on the DMP, which requires careful analysis and preparation. It is important to emphasise that the preparation and checking of the DMP is a creative process that requires adequate time and attention to carefully analyse the project and develop an effective plan. Therefore, I strongly urge you to meet the deadlines set so that we can provide the highest level of support and quality. For organisational reasons, data management plans sent to Data Stewards or project offices after the deadline will not be considered.

We encourage you to contact and cooperate with us in advance to avoid possible delays. For any questions and for support, please visit our website: https://us.edu.pl/kontakt-2/, where you will find contact details for our team. We are here to help and support you in the process of grant applications, managing your scientific data and developing effective plans for managing this data. Do not hesitate to make use of our help and expertise.

Sincerely,

Dr Maciej Bisaga

Open Science Coordinator
