Teaching in higher education school is a course that prepares PhD students to work as an academic teacher. The course consists of several parts. First, doctoral students participate in lectures and conversations on various aspects of an academic teacher’s work, for example related to group work, effective forms of communication, neurodidactics or distance learning. Then, PhD students choose one of the proposed workshops. The last stage – supervision – takes place after PhD student conducts first independent classes in the second year.
Now doctoral students choose one of the workshops. One of the following workshops must be selected by April 21, 12:00 p.m. (English-speaking doctoral students are assigned to English-speaking classes):
- Strategies for collaboration & cooperation – mgr Ewa Dębska (in English)
- Gamification and educational games – dr Jacek Francikowski (in Polish)
- Design thinking in education – dr Mikołaj Marcela (in Polish)
- Teacher in a laboratory. Modern teaching methods in exact sciences – dr hab. prof. UŚ Armand Cholewka (in Polish)

Contrary to popular belief, teamwork can be a very enriching, meaningful, and effective way of learning. The problem with it is that we think teamwork’s like breathing – everyone can do it, while the truth is you need to learn it: develop attitudes, skills, and habits.
Therefore our workshop will focus on particular tools coming from – which may seem surprising – not necessarily education. We will practice some Cooperative Learning and Liberating Structures strategies – techniques and structures providing a certain framework, support interactions, and learning between members of the student team (or any other team). Prepare yourselves for activity and practice
