Duration of the scholarship: 42 months

Scholarship amount: 4266,55 PLN/month

Position: PhD student in the discipline of physical sciences

Unit of the project realization: Faculty of Science and Technology – University of Silesia in Katowice
The University of Silesia in Katowice is seeking a candidate for a PhD project investigating mechanism of intrusion of liquids into hydrophobic porous materials. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative
method of energy storage. The desired candidate would have the ability to think creatively and understand basic physico-chemical principles.
The position is available in cooperation between two teams Thermodynamics in Action Team and Structure and Dynamics of Matter at the University of Silesia, Poland. This innovative project will also involve active international collaboration.

Position: PhD student in art studies

RE-THINKING OF ``HET SCHILDER-BOECK`` (THE BOOK OF PAINTING) AND TRACING THE MIGRATION OF FLEMISH MASTERS (XV-XVI CENTURIES)

Unit: Institute of Art Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice

Type of scholarship: research scholarship for Phd student

Duration of the scholarship: 36 months

Ammount: 5000 PLN/month

Term of submmiting offers: September 22, 2023, 13:00

Requirements:

  1. MA degree in Art History or related humanities fields
  2. Status of Ph.D. candidate at any institution
  3. Experience in historical research
  4. Language skills: fluent in English and other languages (preferably Italian or French, or Spanish)

Tasks:

  • Review the literature and analyze the data on the XVth and XVIth century Flemish and Dutch Art
  • Collaboration with the PI on the creation and management of the H-GIS database
  • Publication of scientific papers
  • Ability to conduct archival research
